The Pimpri-Chinchwad Municipal Corporation (PCMC) will honor 170 meritorious students and 12 differently-abled students from its secondary schools who scored more than 80 percent in the 10th examination. A total of 19 students who achieved more than 90% marks will receive a cash prize.
The Municipal Corporation has allocated four crore rupees for these student prizes. With 18 secondary schools under its purview, the Municipal Corporation had a total of 1,780 students appearing for the examination. As part of its ongoing scheme, the Municipal Corporation awards cash prizes to meritorious and disabled students who secure more than 80 percent marks in the 10th examination. This program has been in effect since 2008, with changes made to its implementation in the 2015-16 academic year.
Under the revised policy, each of the 19 students from the 18 secondary schools who scored above 90 percent will receive a prize of one lakh rupees. Additionally, 59 students who obtained marks ranging from 85 to 89.99 percent will be awarded Rs 50,000 each, while 80 students with marks between 80 and 84.99 percent will receive Rs 25,000 each. Furthermore, 12 disabled students with over 35 percent marks and a disability of 40 percent will be honored with a cash prize of Rs 50,000 each.
