Saudi Arabia announced a new educational visa program for international students on February 29, 2024, at the Human Capacity Initiative conference in Riyadh. The program is called “Study in Saudi Arabia” and is a collaboration between the Ministry of Education and the Ministry of Foreign Affairs.
The program aims to attract international students to Saudi Arabia and simplify the process for studying there. The “Study in Saudi Arabia” platform will allow students to apply for short- and long-term academic and research programs, including a range of study options.
To qualify for an educational visa, students must:
- Show that course fees have been paid in full
- Arrange private medical insurance and provide documentary evidence
- Demonstrate an intention to return to their home country after their studies are complete.
