Mumbai : The state has set up a technical study committee to help conserve the silverskinned pomfret, a popular seafood among the coastal population. Silver pomfret was declared a state fish in September. The eight member committee headed by the fisheries commissioner will look at ways to protect the marine co-system, curb overfishing and promote sustainable fishing practices.
